The Yongsan Police Station in Seoul has confirmed the receipt of a complaint against Min Hee Jin, the head of the girl group NewJeans’ label ADOR, and her deputy Shin Dong Hoon. The complaint, filed by HYBE, accuses them of attempting to usurp ADOR’s management rights.

HYBE had previously reported that during an audit targeting ADOR’s board of directors, evidence was found suggesting unauthorized efforts by Min and Shin to secede from HYBE. This prompted HYBE to take legal action, leading to the filing of the complaint with Yongsan Police on accusations of breach of trust in business operations.

A police spokesperson stated, “There are no set plans yet regarding the direction of the investigation, including the summons of the complainant and the accused. We will decide the course of the investigation after reviewing the complaint.”

In a dramatic twist, Min Hee Jin held a press conference yesterday afternoon vehemently denying any attempt to take over ADOR’s management. She claimed that her dismissal was communicated following her allegations that another HYBE label, Belift Lab’s girl group ILLIT, had imitated NewJeans.

As the situation unfolds, the industry watches closely to see how this high-stakes dispute between one of K-pop’s largest corporations and one of its most prominent executives will be resolved by law enforcement.
