The 39th Golden Disc Award have come to an end!
On January 5, the Golden Disc Awards held the second night of its ceremony at Fukuoka’s PayPay Dome in Japan. Although the awards were originally scheduled to air live, the live broadcasts were cancelled in the wake of the Jeju Air Plane Crash—meaning that Day 2, which was pre-recorded, will now air on January 7 at 1:20 a.m. KST.
While Day 1 of the Golden Disc Awards honored the biggest digital song releases of 2024, Day 2 focused on honoring achievements in physical album releases.
SEVENTEEN won this year’s Daesang (Grand Prize) for Album of the Year with “SPILL THE FEELS.” (The Daesang for Digital Song of the Year went to aespa for “Supernova” the night before.)
Albums released between early November 2023 and early November 2024 were eligible for this year’s awards.
