JTBC’s new romantic-comedy Kdrama, “My Sweet Mobster” (also known as “Woman Who Plays With”), based on the web novel “Playful Woman”, has opened with a bang. It stars Um Tae Goo as Seo Ji Hwan, an ex-gangster turned CEO, who hires ex-convicts to work in his company. This stoic and serious character changes when he meets Go Eun Ha (played by former Secret member Han Sun Hwa), a children’s content creator.
Seo Ji-Hwan (Um Tae-Goo) is a former gangster who left the scene to become the CEO of a company. He works to dismantle gangs and hire ex-gang members released from prison to help them improve their lives.
Go Eun-Ha (Han Sun-Hwa) runs her own YouTube channel dedicated to children, under the pseudonym Mini Sister. She wants to transmit love and happiness to her audience, inspired by a childhood memory of a boy from the neighborhood who played with her. Her channel is not very popular, and during a part-time cleaning job, she accidentally hurts Seo Ji-Hwan, who seems to recognize her.
So far, viewers have fallen in love with the main characters, whose chemistry is undeniable.
Kim Hyun Jin plays Joo Il Yeong, Ji Hwan’s right-hand man and general manager of Thirsty Deer, while Moon Ji In plays Ku Mi Ho, Eun Ha’s best friend and hairstylist.
From the beginning, the two characters stare at each other. Il Yeong appears to visit Mi Ho while trying to bring Ji Hwan and Eun Ha closer together. However, he seems to fall in love with Mi Ho himself.
In episode 6, their relationship progresses. Il Yeong goes to Mi Ho’s living room and the two spend some time together, eating dinner and talking.
After leaving the living room, Il Yeong insists on inviting her for coffee. On the way, they chat when a restaurant owner inadvertently spills a bucket of water on them. Embarrassed, Il Yeong tries to make sure Mi Ho is okay, but it’s already too late.
Later in the episode, Mi Ho is at home experiencing flashbacks of a passionate night with Il Yeong. The scene alternates between images of them undressing and kissing, leaving viewers in doubt as to whether this scene is real.
Some viewers debate the veracity of the intimate scene between Il Yeong and Mi Ho, thinking it might be Mi Ho’s fantasy. However, other clues, such as Il Yeong’s absence at breakfast and the remarks from the Thirsty Deer team, suggest that this night did indeed take place.
At this point, Eun Ha has only drunkenly kissed Ji Hwan and pretends not to remember.
The steamy scene between Il Yeong and Mi Ho quickly went viral, with over 115 views to date, sparking enthusiastic reactions from netizens.
It’s obvious that this rapid development of the secondary couple has captivated fans, reminiscent of other romantic Kdramas where the secondary couples move forward faster than the main ones.
