Kim Hye Yoon recently shared her thoughts on her role in Lovely Runner during a photoshoot with Cosmopolitan Korea in Bali, Indonesia. Set against the backdrop of the ocean and forest, Kim radiated summer vibes with her bright smile and refreshing charm.
Kim Hye Yoon starred as Lim Sol in the recently concluded tvN drama Lovely Runner. Reflecting on her experience, she said, “It felt like peeking into someone’s diary. Living as Lim Sol from her teens to her 30s was a precious and enriching experience. I learned a lot from Sol.”
Discussing the challenges of portraying a character across different ages, Kim explained, “I’ve played various teenage roles, but Lim Sol was unique because she had the wisdom of a 30-year-old in a teenage body. I had to carefully incorporate mature nuances, using expressions and words that teenagers typically wouldn’t.”
Having acted for over a decade, Kim remains her own toughest critic. “I like being strict with myself. I strive to do my best in everything, and my efforts to reflect on past mistakes have helped me grow. Honestly, I have never had a moment when I was content with my performance. I hope that moment comes with more experience.”
Regarding the show’s ending, Kim shared, “If Seon Jae had never remembered, Sol would have spent her days crying far more than what viewers saw on screen. I’m relieved with the current ending.” She added, “I plan to binge-watch Lovely Runner here in Bali.”
Wrapping up, the actress shared, “Some people have told me my work has been a source of comfort. Honestly, I’m not someone incredibly remarkable, but being able to give strength and positive energy to someone’s life through my acting, which is something I love to do, is very meaningful to me. Going forward, I hope to continue delivering bright energy to many people through the ‘ingredient’ that is ‘Kim Hye Yoon.’”
