Upcoming romance film “Love in the Big City” starring Kim Go Eun and Noh Sang Hyun has confirmed its premiere date and unveiled some new stills!
Based on a bestseller novel by Park Sang Young and helmed by Director Lee Eon Hee of “The Accidental Detective 2: In Action,” “Missing,” and “Love Exposure,” “Love in the Big City” is a romance film that depicts a cohabitation between a free-spirited woman and a man who hides his innate secrets.
The film is now officially scheduled for theatrical release on October 2, following its premiere at the 49th Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF) on September 13.
The movie joins the festival’s “Special Presentations” lineup, which highlights new films by esteemed directors and actors. This category has previously featured acclaimed productions such as “Mother” and “Parasite” by Bong Joon Ho, as well as “The Handmaiden” by Park Chan Wook.
Meanwhile, newly released stills capture some poignant moments between Jae Hee (Kim Go Eun) and Heung Soo (Noh Sang Hyun). In one image, the two characters lie side by side on a playground slide while in another photo, they are together having drinks but appear emotionally distant—Jae Hee gazes into the air with a blank look, while Heung Soo looks down at the drink table.
Giovanna Fulvi, Senior International Programmer of TIFF, praised the film, saying, “‘Love in the Big City’ convincingly captures the journey of individuals seeking themselves within the context of societal norms. With Lee Eon Hee’s subtle direction and the acting skills of Kim Go Eun and Noh Sang Hyun, the film explores emotional resonance, youth, identity, and the complexities of love with a captivating and fresh perspective.”
