A new variety show featuring celebrities who have experienced the pain of divorce is generating buzz even before its premiere. Notably, the stories of actress Jo Yoon Hee and her ex-husband, actor Lee Dong Gun, are capturing attention anew.

Set to debut in July, TV CHOSUN’s new observational pilot show, Now I’m Alone (literal title), features Jeon No Min, Choi Dong Seok, Jo Yoon Hee, and Lee Yoon Jin. Now I’m Alone offers a candid look into the lives of those navigating life after divorce. The teaser, released on the 20th, has already garnered significant interest.

In the teaser, Jo Yoon Hee reflects on the difficult period before her divorce, saying, “I couldn’t sleep well before the divorce. I had nightmares every day.”

Jo Yoon Hee married Lee Dong Gun, whom she met on the set of the drama The Gentlemen of Wolgyesu Tailor Shop in 2017. They welcomed their daughter, Roa, three months after their wedding but divorced three years later. Since their 2020 divorce, Jo has been raising her daughter. She previously showcased her life as a single mother on JTBC’s Brave Solo Parenting: I Raise, and now, she is set to reveal a new side of herself on this program.

Meanwhile, Lee Dong Gun’s remarks about his divorce have also attracted attention.

In the fourth year of his divorce, Lee Dong Gun appeared on My Little Old Boy and revealed, “‘Why did you get divorced?’ is the question I hate the most. It feels like spitting in my own face to explain,” adding, “I started my married life in my own home, had a child, and then got divorced in that same house. When my ex-wife and daughter left, I was left alone and felt an overwhelming emptiness. It was haunting.” He further explained that the emptiness he felt prompted his decision to move to a new house, though he kept the furniture from their previous home.
