“The Land of Happiness” tells the story of lawyer Jung In Hoo (Jo Jung Suk), who struggles to save Park Tae Joo (Lee Sun Gyun) from a life-or-death situation in the trial of the 1979 presidential assassination case. The movie is based on the real-life incident in which former President Park Chung Hee was assassinated on October 26, 1979.
The released character posters draw attention by capturing the inner thoughts of the characters involved in the trial for various reasons. The first poster captioned, “If the trial continues like this, Colonel Park will really die,” depicts lawyer Jung In Hoo, who is struggling to save Park Tae Joo. His serious and intense expression hints at his sincere commitment to the trial.
Military officer Park Tae Joo (Lee Sun Gyun), chief secretary to the head of the Korean Central Intelligence Agency, captures attention with his resolute expression and intense gaze. The poster’s caption, “A soldier has rules to follow,” showcases Park Tae Joo’s strong convictions as a soldier.
Jeon Sang Doo (Yoo Jae Myung), the head of the joint investigation team for the October 26 incident, exudes an imposing aura as he listens in on the trial. The caption, “I decide who is guilty and who is not,” hints at his current authority and ambition for even greater power, sparking curiosity about his influence on the trial.
