TVING has shared a glimpse of Ji Chang Wook in character for his upcoming drama The Queen Woo.

Premiering on August 29th, the TVING original serie follows a fierce battle in Goguryeo that breaks out among the 5 tribes vying for the throne after the sudden death of the king.

Ji Chang Wook stars as King Go Nam Moo of Goguryeo. Known for his bravery and integrity, Go Nam Moo became the king with the trust of his father. He marries Woo Hee (played by Jeon Jong Seo) and they form a loving family. However, their relationship becomes strained after he personally quashes a rebellion led by a member of the queen’s family. After a long war, Go Nam Moo finally returns to the palace, but his sudden death plunges the kingdom into chaos.

Ji Chang Wook’s portrayal of King Go Nam Moo is anticipated to make a lasting impression. Transforming from a dominant monarch into the catalyst that ignites everyone’s desire for power, the actor is expected to embody the king’s charisma with meticulous attention to detail, refining his gait, gaze, speech, and style to bring the character to life.

Queen Woo will release all episodes of Part 1 on Thursday, August 29th, with Part 2 available on Thursday, September 12th.
