Yoo Ara has shared that she is currently battling cancer.
On June 11, the former Hello Venus member took to Instagram to explain why she hadn’t been active for a long time. Yoo Ara revealed that she had been diagnosed with cancer and had recently undergone surgery to remove a malignant tumor, but reassured her fans that her health was currently improving.

Hello, this is Yoo Ara. 🙂
You’ve all been doing well, right?[I’m writing this post] because it seems like many people think I really died or something ㅠㅠ…
From a long time ago, I was often tired, and there were many times when my health and physical condition were really bad..While happening to undergo an examination, I found out that it was cancer.
I received the diagnosis that I needed surgery, so I underwent surgery to remove the malignant tumor and also took medication, and I am now resting. (Right now, I’m getting much better.)
Although there were people who knew, there were also many people who couldn’t get in touch with me and felt hurt, so I struggled a lot with heartache on my own.
I would be so grateful if my acquaintances and everyone who loves me would please understand.
For this year at least, I plan to try to minimize stress and work hard on recovering my health.
Everyone, please don’t get sick and always take good care of your health as well! Beware of the [summer] heat.
