MBC’s upcoming drama “Black Out” has unveiled new character concept stills of Byun Yo Han, Go Joon, Go Bo Gyeol, and Kim Bo Ra!
Adapted from the best-selling German mystery novel “Snow White Must Die,” “Black Out” is a crime thriller drama that follows the gripping story of a young man accused of murder in a mysterious case where no corpses were found. 11 years later, he embarks on a journey to uncover the truth of that fateful day.
Byun Yo Han will star as Go Jung Woo, who goes from being a model student to a murder suspect overnight. Joining him in the intense search for the truth are detective Noh Sang Chul (Go Joon), top star Choi Na Gyeom (Go Bo Gyeol), and college student Ha Seol (Kim Bo Ra). The story is set in the quiet rural town of Mucheon, which hides a horrifying secret beneath its peaceful exterior.
Mucheon, the town represented by National Assembly member Ye Young Sil (Bae Jong Ok), is known for its tight-knit community where everyone knows each other. From Mucheon Police Chief Hyun Gu Tak (Kwon Hae Hyo) to Go Jung Woo’s father, Go Chang Soo (Ahn Nae Sang), and Shim Dong Min (Jo Jae Yoon), the townspeople treat one another like family, living with mutual care and respect.
The murder case in Mucheon shakes the town, breaking apart its strong sense of community. Suspect Go Jung Woo, who is accused of brutally killing two classmates and disposing of their bodies, is the town’s model student. Well-loved for his kindness and academic success, his arrest deepens the townspeople’s sense of betrayal and stirs their anger.
As Go Jung Woo goes to prison, his parents face daily scorn and criticism from neighbors who were once like family. Their business, Mucheon Garden, is taken over by others. After the father’s death, the relationships between the family and the townspeople become strained and awkward.
After 11 years, Go Jung Woo returns to his hometown and finds it completely changed. As he tries to uncover the truth about the murders he can’t remember, the town’s hidden secrets begin to emerge.
“Black Out” is set to premiere on August 16 at 9:50 p.m. KST.
