Byeon Woo Seok, who created a sensation with his portrayal of Ryu Seon Jae in Lovely Runner, made headlines for his emotional farewell to fans and staff at a special screening event.
On May 28th, the cast of tvN’s Lovely Runner held a group viewing event to thank fans for their overwhelming support. The actors shared their heartfelt messages, drawing significant attention.
Byeon Woo Seok began his speech with, “Especially this theater…” but was quickly overcome with emotion, pausing as tears welled up. He attempted to continue, “In here, the staff who worked with us–,” but turned away as he struggled to hold back his tears.
Gathering himself, he added, “The staff are here,” referring to the staff’s efforts and the nearly 10-month-long filming process. “I learned so much during the two months it aired. Thank you very much,” he said, bowing deeply, unable to lift his head. He concluded with a heartfelt, “Thank you for making Seon Jae so special.”
Seeing the clip, fans responded warmly, leaving comments such as, “I cried while watching him,” “If I were a staff member, I’d feel so rewarded,” “His sincerity is palpable,” “Thank you, Byeon Woo Seok, for bringing Seon Jae to life,” and “It’s sad to see ‘Lovely Runner’ end, but I hope the actors continue to find happiness.”
