BTS’s Suga has issued a second public apology following a DUI incident that led to a police investigation. The rapper expressed deep regret, saying, “I’ve let down the name of BTS.”
On the 25th, Suga took to Weverse to post a handwritten apology letter. “With a shameful heart, I want to apologize to everyone once again,” he began. “I deeply apologize to the fans and everyone who has loved me for disappointing and hurting you with my wrong actions. I failed to live up to the love I’ve received, and I made a big mistake,” Suga wrote, expressing his remorse.
He continued, “On the night of the 6th, I made the mistake of riding an electric scooter on the sidewalk after drinking. I also caused a lot of confusion with my first apology letter on the 7th. I should have been more thoughtful and careful, but I wasn’t,” adding, “It’s all my fault. My carelessness has caused pain to everyone who cares about me. I will strive to never make the same mistake again and reflect on what I’ve done.”
Suga also shared his feelings of guilt over the impact of his actions on BTS and ARMY. “Because of this incident, I’ve put a big stain on the precious memories we’ve made together and let down the name of BTS. I feel an indescribable amount of regret and pain for causing harm to the members and the team,” he confessed. “I am truly sorry that the members, who have always trusted me, are going through a difficult time because of me. I also fully understand the disappointment felt by the fans who have supported and encouraged me.”
He went on, “I know that no words can heal the wounds and disappointment the fans have suffered, so I am deeply regretful and reflect on this with a heavy heart every day. Once again, I sincerely apologize to the fans who were hurt because of me,” he continued. “I will accept whatever punishment comes my way and take all criticism and rebuke. Lastly, I once again sincerely bow my head in apology for causing social controversy and disappointing many people.”
