Episode 11 of “Queen of Tears” was full of subtle details imagined by the screenwriter. A clue to a tragic ending was suggested by a song.
Hae In’s hallucination
From the opening scene of the episode, after Hae In (Kim Ji Won) told the whole truth at the press conference, she had hallucinations. But unlike previous times where her hallucinations were dark and cold, this time Hae In found herself in the middle of a beautiful lavender field under the warm rays of the sun.
Lavender is also known as the herb of love, it symbolizes lasting and faithful love, which, despite many difficulties and trials, remains unshakable. Not to mention, lavender seems to be Hae In’s favorite flower, because during her honeymoon in Germany, she also took photos with a lavender field.

The song “Oh My Darling, Clementine”
One of the scenes that moved the audience to tears was when Hae In’s father stood in the elevator, stunned after learning of his daughter’s illness. In this scene, the background music used is the song “Oh My Darling, Clementine”, a children’s song.
This song was originally about a father whose daughter had died. The use of this song combined with the memories of Hae In’s father and the cramped space of the elevator makes the audience’s hearts feel suffocated. The public also feared that this song was a foreshadowing of Hae In’s tragic end.
The mention of Hyun Woo’s left hand
The last scene of the episode where Hae In accidentally mistakes Eun Sung for Hyun Woo is the best scene of episode 11. The audience realizes that the screenwriter gave a hint about this mistake from the middle of episode 11. By example, Hyun Woo is naturally left-handed while Eun Sung is right-handed. In this scene, Hyun Woo (actually Eun Sung) uses his right hand to put his arm around Hae In’s shoulder.
Previously, in the middle of episode 11, in the scene where Hyun Woo and Hae In were happy together, Hae In asked Hyun Woo: “What is the left hand for? “. A seemingly innocuous line, aimed at getting Hyun Woo to hug her, emphasizing for the audience that Hyun Woo is left-handed and that the person who appeared at the end of episode 11 was not Hyun Woo.
