ADOR’s Min Hee Jin has vehemently denied allegations that she intentionally delayed the debut of NewJeans to wrest control from Source Music, and has announced plans for legal action against these claims.

On the 23rd, ADOR responded to a report titled “The Truth Behind Min Hee Jin’s Stealing of NewJeans,” published by Dispatch, stating, “The article is based on fabricated information, and we plan to take strong legal action.” The report accused Min Hee Jin of intentionally delaying the debut of the N Team (which included current NewJeans members Minji, Hanni, Danielle, Haerin, and Hyein) to take control away from Source Music.

Earlier that day, Dispatch reported, “The N Team was already preparing to debut with ‘Attention.’ Source Music was training them in singing, choreography, and language. The debut could have proceeded as soon as the branding proposal was ready.” They further claimed, “The problem was that the proposal only existed in Min Hee Jin’s head. She insisted that she had everything planned, but Source Music never received the final materials necessary to introduce the N Team to the market.”

In response, ADOR stated, “The entire content of the article is based on false information, making any rebuttal pointless. The overall facts and timeline have been completely distorted and fabricated, causing severe defamation and obstruction of business for ADOR, NewJeans, and CEO Min Hee Jin.”

Further allegations in the report suggested that Min Hee Jin spent nearly 40 million KRW (approximately 30,000 USD) consulting a shaman in March and April of 2021. Without addressing the veracity of these claims, ADOR pointed out, “Three years ago, Min Hee Jin reset her laptop before returning it to HYBE. It is strongly suspected that HYBE forensically analyzed the laptop to recover personal conversations. This constitutes a serious crime and illegal act involving the detection of electronic records.”

ADOR continued, “HYBE claims that they did not conduct forensic analysis, stating instead that the KakaoTalk conversations were stored on their cloud server. However, this raises even more serious concerns. HYBE’s actions constitute a grave violation of privacy and communication freedoms, amounting to unconstitutional behavior.”

ADOR also directed a statement at HYBE’s management, urging them to “immediately cease unnecessary persecution of subsidiaries and avoid causing unnecessary disputes.” They added, “We will fully cooperate with police investigations and warn against any further illegal actions.”
