Jang Ki Yong and Cha Seung Won are teaming up for the first time in the upcoming series Pigpen (literal title), based on the popular webtoon.

On the 19th, production company Studio N announced that Jang Ki Yong, Cha Seung Won, Park Hee Soon, Roh Jeong Eui, and Kim Dae Myung have all been cast in Pigpen. This mystery thriller follows Jin Woo (Jang Ki Yong), who loses his memory and finds himself stranded on a deserted island. As he struggles to survive and uncover his lost memories, he encounters a strange family and faces a series of bizarre and terrifying events.

Jang Ki Yong takes on the role of Jin Woo, who desperately tries to recall his past while unraveling the island’s mysteries. Speaking about the project, Jang Ki Yong shared, “I really enjoyed the original webtoon, and the character was incredibly intriguing. I’m excited to work with such a talented crew and cast and will do my best to create something truly special.”

Cha Seung Won will portray the “Owner,” a mysterious figure who runs the only pension on the island and exerts a chilling influence over Jin Woo. Cha Seung Won commented, “The unique genre of ‘Pigpen’ immediately drew me in. It’s something I’ve always wanted to try, and I’m looking forward to seeing how it turns out.”

Park Hee Soon will play Bae Jung Ho, a father relentlessly searching for his missing son, adding another layer of intensity to the story. Park was enthusiastic, saying, “I’m grateful to be part of a series based on such a popular webtoon. I’ll work hard to bring additional depth and emotion to the thrilling and mysterious story.”

Roh Jeong Eui is set to appear as Romi, the mysterious eldest daughter of the Owner, who entices Jin Woo with promises of escape. “I’m thrilled and nervous to work with such an amazing cast,” Roh shared, expressing her determination, “I’ll prepare thoroughly.”

Kim Dae Myung will portray Jin Tae Hee, a suspicious worker at the pension who seems to follow the Owner’s orders but secretly offers Jin Woo clues for escape. The actor remarked, “From the moment I received the script, I was captivated by the intensity of the story. I will work hard with the respected actors and the director until the moment filming wraps, to create a truly entertaining project.”

Pigpen has begun filming and is slated for release in 2025.
