Girls’ Generation’s Yuri recently deleted her latest photos amidst controversy.

On the 24th, Yuri posted photos on her Instagram with the caption “PARTY.” In the pictures, Yuri can be seen posing on tetrapods at a restricted beach area in Jeju, either standing or lying down. The post quickly sparked backlash, with comments such as “This is a restricted area,” “It looks very dangerous,” and “You can be fined for being there.”

In response to the growing criticism, Yuri swiftly removed the photos.

Tetrapods, concrete structures used to prevent waves and tsunamis, were developed in France in 1949 and are widely used in coastal construction around the world. These structures can be 3 to 5 meters long and weigh over 70 tons each.

In 2022, South Korea’s Ministry of Oceans and Fisheries classified tetrapod structures as hazardous areas within ports, strictly prohibiting access. Violators can face fines of up to 1 million KRW (approximately 750 USD). The surface of tetrapods is smooth, and algae growth due to constant contact with seawater makes them slippery, posing a significant risk of accidents.
