Seven Kep1er members are reportedly extending their contracts.
On May 16, STARNEWS reported that Kep1er will reorganize the group as a seven-member team including the members Yujin, Xiaoting, Chaehyun, Dayeon, Hikaru, Huening Bahiyyih, and Youngeun. The report stated that Mashiro and Yeseo will leave Kep1er and join the girl group LIMELIGHT under their original agency 143 Entertainment.
In response to the report, 143 Entertainment revealed, “We were even discussing with CJ ENM until yesterday on whether to extend Yeseo and Mashiro’s Kep1er activities. We are still reviewing this matter carefully, and no decisions have been made.”
Kep1er’s agency WAKEONE also commented, “We are discussing with the members and each member’s agency regarding the extension of Kep1er’s project group activities.”
Kep1er is a nine-member girl group formed through Mnet’s survival audition program “Girls Planet 999” that debuted in January 2022. Following the conclusion of the show, they signed an exclusive contract with WAKEONE as a temporary group that would promote for two and a half years.
Kep1er is currently gearing up for their comeback with the new studio album “Kep1going On,” which will be released on June 3.
