Yoon Chan Young and Golden Child’s Jaehyun have shared ther thoughts on their recent drama “High School Return of a Gangster”!
“High School Return of a Gangster” is a fantasy drama about a gangster whose soul accidentally enters the body of a teenage high school outcast. Having always wanted to go to college, he forms a new friendship with a student who suffers from domestic violence and uses his skills to punish bullies.
Yoon Chan Young received praise for his performance in his dual roles as the 19-year-old high school outcast Song Yi Heon and the 47-year-old gangster Kim Deuk Pal, who winds up possessing Song Yi Heon’s body. His refreshing and impactful performance provided thrilling entertainment each week, and his versatile acting, ranging from action scenes to dad jokes, left viewers in awe.
Yoon Chan Young remarked, “Thanks to the interest and love of many, I had a rewarding and happy time. As with any project, there were difficult parts, but I feel it was meaningful that we all worked together to overcome them. I especially want to thank Se Kyung [Jaehyun], who was always by my side and was sincere about everything.”

Jaehyun played the role of model student Choi Se Kyung, who boasts excellent grades, a neat appearance, and a good physique, but who also harbors unseen pain. Jaehyun enhanced the quality of the drama with his acting skills, and his portrayal of Choi Se Kyung, who overcame the pain of domestic violence, garnered enthusiastic support from viewers.
Jaehyun commented, “I learned a lot and received a lot of help while working with such great actors and staff.” He added, “With this drama as a foundation, I want to become an actor without limits in my future acting career as well.”
