Psychiatrist Yang Jae Woong and EXID’s Hani are postponing their wedding amid recent controversy.

On September 3, media outlets reported that Yang Jae Woong and Hani decided to delay the wedding, which was originally set for this month. Yang Jae Woong confirmed that he and Hani had discussed the decision.

Yang Jae Woong’s agency Mystic Story said, “Yang Jae Woong has postponed his wedding with Hani, which was scheduled for September.” The agency added, “A new date for the wedding has not been set.”

They also announced that Yang Jae Woong will shut down the “Yang Bros’ Psychological World” (literal title) YouTube channel, which he co-hosted with his older brother Yang Jae Jin.

Regarding the reports, Hani’s agency Sublime Artist Agency stated, “We are unable to confirm.”

Previously on May 27, a patient identified as “A” died after being hospitalized for 33 days at Yang Jae Woong’s mental health hospital in Bucheon. The patient was being treated for addiction to diet pills. The cause of death was reported as intestinal pseudo-obstruction.

The patient’s family claims that despite the patient’s severely bloated abdomen, they did not receive treatment from the hospital’s internal medicine doctor or recommendations for additional care. They also accused the hospital of overmedicating with sleep aids and tranquilizers, citing an autopsy by the National Forensic Service that found near-lethal levels of the drugs.

In response to the controversy, Yang Jae Woong issued a formal apology through his agency, saying, “Both the former medical staff and I are deeply saddened by the incident that occurred during the hospitalization at W Jin Hospital. We sincerely apologize to the deceased and the bereaved family who are in mourning.”
