The 60th Baeksang Arts Awards took place on May 7th at the COEX D Hall in Seoul. Shin Dong Yeop, Suzy, and Park Bo Gum served as the MCs for the evening.

Disney Plus series Moving took home the coveted Grand Prize in the Television category. Director Park In Je expressed his gratitude, stating, “If you watch all 20 episodes, you’ll see the credits rolling as Bong Seok ascends into space. It includes all the actors and staff who participated, no matter how briefly. I am grateful to everyone listed in those credits.”

12.12: The Day helmed by Director Kim Sung Soo claimed the Grand Prize in the Film category. The director remarked, “Despite the film’s infuriating content, the film resonated with many and achieved over 10 million admissions in theaters all around the country. I take this opportunity to express my deepest gratitude to the audience who came to see the movie and to all those who love Korean cinema.”

Lee Hanee received the Best Actress award in the Television category for her role in Knight Flower. She shared her experience, saying, “Six months after giving birth, I found myself up on wires, flying across rooftops and swinging swords while filming this show. It might seem crazy to anyone, but I fell in love with the script and couldn’t stop myself. I promised that I would never do an action drama again after filming this show, but this award definitely makes me reconsider.”

Namkoong Min took home the Best Actor award in the Television category for his performance in My Dearest. He expressed his delight, “I’ve been to the Baeksang Arts Awards a few times before, but I used to just sit in the audience, but today, I’m standing here on stage, and it’s an honor to be able to speak to you all.” He concluded his speech by promising, “I will continue to give my best in acting and come back with even better work.”

Kim Go Eun received the Best Actress award in the Film category for her role in Exhuma. With tears welling up in her eyes, she stated, “Last year was personally a difficult and painful year for me, but I was fortunate enough to find a truly happy set to work on. Going to work was so much fun and enjoyable.”

Hwang Jung Min won the Best Actor award in the Film category for his role in 12.12: The Day. He expressed his gratitude to the film’s producers, investors, makeup staff, Jung Woo Sung, and everyone involved, acknowledging, “This project required the courage of all those people.” He continued, “I believe I received this award because of the great courage of the audience. I want to share the honor of this award with you.” He added, “I think she’ll be at home, but I want to tell my beloved wife, who holds many titles besides being my best companion and closest friend, Kim Mi Hye, that I love her very, very much.”
