What happens to Su-in and Heidi?
After working with Team Grey, Won-Seok revealed himself to be the parasites’ biggest supporter, and did so quietly. His greed caused him to side with these monstrous creatures, despite being a human. In the final moments of episode 6 of Parasyte: The Gray Episode 6, we see the Pastor take possession of his body after cutting off his head and that’s when Su-in appears and allows Heidi to take control of his body to fight the Won-Seok parasite.
It is then that Choi Jun-Kyung appears, pointing his rifle at Su-in without suspecting that a parasite is observing him from behind. Heidi, in Su-in’s body, decides to decapitate the creature after seeing it and save the leader of Team Grey.
Choi realizes, however, before shooting Su-in, that Won-Seok is a parasite whose goal is to make him kill Su-in. So Choi ends up shooting Won-Seok instead of Su-in. Before returning control of the body to Su-in, Heidi reveals to Choi that her human host taught her to trust others, even if not everyone she loves and trusts is worthy of her . The parasite also promises not to harm humans.
What else happens at the end of Parasyte: The Grey?

- The parasites decide to hunt down the mayor
In the last episode of Parasyte: The Grey, we discover that the main motive for the parasitic invasion on Earth was not primarily to eat the human brains of individuals but to devour the brains of the human organization in order to be able to rule over humanity. The parasite living in Cheol-Min’s body therefore develops a plan to track down the mayor during the big music festival.
Unable to let it happen, Su-in and Kang-Woo go to the event, but this time, they are not the only ones who want to face the parasites because Kyung-Hee, the latter’s older sister who was betrayed by Cheol-Min’s parasite accompanies them.

- Kyung-Hee is eliminated
In the penultimate episode, Kyung-Hee catches Cheol-Min eliminating her peers while traveling on a bus, which allows her to understand what betrayal is and pushes her to join Su- in the fight against Cheol-Min and Won-Seok. If, at first, Kang-Woo does not seem to agree with her plan, he ultimately decides to accompany her. Kang-Woo watches the mayor while Su-in and Kyung-Hee try to hide from Choi during the festival. When the leader of Team Gray surprises them, Su-in decides to create a diversion to buy Kyung-Hee time.
During his fight against Choi, Won-Seok is seen helping the pastor approach the mayor. As the creature kills the mayor’s security guards, it attempts to attack the mayor, which is interrupted by the arrival of Kyung-Hee. As she asks Kang-Woo to run away with the mayor, she is shot by Won-Seok from behind. She then begs Kang-Woo for forgiveness before being killed by the parasite.

- Su-in and Kan-Woo return to normal life
Once the parasites are eliminated, Su-in resumes her life as a supermarket employee. One day, while sitting outside the supermarket, Kang-Woo joins her and reveals that Choi made him a member of Team Gray and that Heidi left him a letter for him to read. Kang-Woo then asks Su-in to read the rest of the letter herself since he became emotional after reading part of it. Before leaving, Kang-Woo announces Choi’s wish that Su-in also join the team.

- Who is Shinichi in Parasyte: The Grey?
The final moments are marked by the appearance of a journalist at Team Gray HQ to meet Choi who introduces himself under the name Shinichi, the camera focuses on his hand. Remember that Shinichi is the main protagonist of Parasyte: The Maxim, the manga/anime series.
Shinichi goes through the same journey as Su-in and becomes a mutant and in order to fight the monsters he is helped by his Parasyte, Migi who can perfectly communicate with Shinichi in real life, which is not the case for Heidi. In order to blend into his body, Migi uses Shinichi’s right hand, which therefore allows him to communicate with the parasite at any time. This explains why the final moments of the K-drama focus on Shinichi’s hand.
Although the fact that The Gray was part of The Maxim canon was never a secret to fans, no one would have imagined that Shinichi would make an appearance in the series. Choi reveals that Korea is the only country that has created an organization to fight and study parasites. This may explain why Shinichi was drawn to Team Gray after fighting the parasites in his country
