Lim Nayoung’s Professional History: Ventures With IOI, PRISTIN, More!
Nayoung once joined Mnet’s popular survival show “Produce 101,” accompanied by five other trainees from her previous agency PLEDIS Entertainment.
At the final lineup, Nayoung placed 10th, along with fellow trainee and former bandmate Kyulkyung. On May 4, 2016, Nayoung debuted with I.O.I with the group’s first mini album “Chrysalis,” along with its title track “Dream Girls.”
I.O.I began to spawn numerous hits such as “Hand in Hand,” “Miss Me?” “Pick Me,” “Very Very Very,” “Downpour,” and many more. However, because of I.O.I members having limited exclusive contracts, the girl group soon disbanded on January 29, 2017.

After the project girl group’s disbandment, Nayoung and her fellow bandmate Kyulkyung became members of PRISTIN, a 10-membered girl group under PLEDIS Entertainment.
Not only did Nayoung manage to secure a place into its final lineup, but also successfully debuted in the group’s first and only sub-unit PRISTIN V, composed of former members Roa, Eunwoo, Rena, Kyulkyung, and Nayoung herself.
On May 24, 2019, PLEDIS Entertainment announced that PRISTIN has disbanded, following a discussion with the members. Members Nayoung, Xiyeon, Kyla, Roa, Yuha, Eunwoo and Rena have terminated their contracts under the agency. While members Kyulkyung, Yehana, and Sungyeon remained under PLEDIS.
“We are here to inform everyone regarding PRISTIN’s disbandment and the members’ contract termination. The agency and members engaged in an in-depth conversation for a while now and has considered all factors before coming to a final decision.”

After PRISTIN and PRISTIN V both disbanded, Nayoung decided to focus on her solo career by signing an exclusive contract with Sublime Artist Agency on August 22, 2019. However, on May 15, Nayoung’s contract with Sublime expired, leading to her withdrawal from the label.

On July 7, Nayoung has officially signed an exclusive contract with new agency Ascendio.
In her inclusion, the agency welcomed Nayoung with a supportive message, expressing their willingness to support the idol in various fields.
“We are thrilled to have a good bond with Lim Nayoung, who possesses lots of potential and irresistible charms. We will now be supporting Lim Nayoung in her upcoming activities across different fields, and we also kindly as everyone to support and love her as well.”
Following this, Nayoung also expressed her excitement over joining the agency.
“After a long while, I can finally convey this exciting news. I hope this will be a dynamic full of enthusiasm and joy since I would like to give back these feelings of gratefulness through activities.”
