Coupang Play’s hit series What Comes After Love has wrapped up with overwhelming acclaim, setting new standards for K-romance dramas and captivating audiences both in Korea and worldwide.


Even after the finale, What Comes After Love continues to dominate, with viewer numbers surging by 783% compared to its debut week, securing the top spot on Coupang Play’s charts for weeks. The series has amassed a stellar rating of 4.5 stars and around 100,000 reviews. On Naver Open Talk (the open chatroom), it has surpassed 1 billion “likes,” achieving the highest number in the entertainment category.

The series’ take on classic Korean melodrama has also enchanted international audiences. Upon its release on Japan’s Amazon Prime, it shot to No. 1 in the drama category and No. 3 overall. On Asia’s popular streaming service Viu, it ranked in the Top 5 across four countries, including Thailand and Indonesia. Additionally, on Rakuten Viki, it claimed the No. 1 spot in 103 countries, including the United States, Brazil, France, and the United Kingdom, just two weeks after its premiere.

Critics have praised the series, with Hong Jong Seon from Dailyan describing it as “like autumn rain softening this harsh season, gently comforting hearts weary from life’s struggles.” Kim Chae Yeon of OSEN shared, “It’s a drama I imagine rewatching naturally on some winter’s day,” while Ha Ji Won from Newsen highlighted its “sensory storytelling through thoughtful restraint, paired with the strong performances of the leads, delivering a well-crafted classic melodrama.”

The cast shared their gratitude for the immense support. Lee Se Young described the project as “a precious gift,” adding, “I hope love always surrounds everyone who loved this drama.” Kentaro Sakaguchi expressed, “From the moment the director approached me, I knew I wanted to do it. Filming with the kind Korean crew was a joy, and this will be a project I cherish for a long time.”


Hong Jong Hyun said, “I gained so much strength from viewers who connected with and supported Min Jun’s story.” Anne Nakamura shared, “From filming to the premiere, it was an incredibly valuable experience, and I’m honored to have been part of it.”
