MBC’s upcoming drama “The Number You Have Dialed” (literal translation) has shared a sneak peek of its first script reading!
Based on a web novel, “The Number You Have Dialed” depicts the romance of a couple that married for convenience as they receive a threatening phone call.
At the script reading, director Park Sang Woo, writer Kim Ji Woon, and actors Yoo Yeon Seok, Chae Soo Bin, Heo Nam Jun, Jang Gyuri, Han Jae Yi, Yoo Sung Joo, Choo Sang Mi, Choi Kwang Il, Oh Hyun Kyung, and Im Chul Soo were in attendance.
The script reading kicked off with a mix of excitement and nerves as the actors fully embraced their roles, bringing scenes to life as if they were already on set.
Yoo Yeon Seok, cast as Baek Sa Eon, the youngest spokesperson for the Blue House, captivated everyone with his portrayal of the character’s cold and calculated demeanor, using sharp expressions and a firm tone. He also kept the atmosphere light with his natural charm, building excitement for the filming ahead. All eyes are on how Yoo Yeon Seok will balance Baek Sa Eon’s shifts between icy detachment and intense emotion.
Chae Soo Bin dove into the role of Hong Hee Joo, a character who has been mute since a childhood accident. She wowed everyone with her flawless use of sign language, which she practiced for her role as a sign language interpreter. In the story, Hee Joo lives in a fake marriage with her husband Baek Sa Eon, but after being kidnapped by a mysterious figure, she decides to change her life. Viewers are eager to see how her journey will unfold.
Heo Nam Jun plays as Ji Sang Woo, a psychiatrist. With his kind and warm demeanor, he stays close to Hee Joo, sparking curiosity about his role in the dynamic between Baek Sa Eon and Hong Hee Joo.
Jang Gyuri, who portrays Na Yu Ri, a self-proclaimed top announcer, also drew attention with her perfect portrayal of the character. Her energetic and lively performance added depth and charm to Na Yu Ri.
Additionally, the strong performances by actors Han Jae Yi, Yoo Sung Joo, Choo Sang Mi, Choi Kwang Il, Oh Hyun Kyung, and Im Chul Soo brought a sense of confidence to the production.
After the script reading, Yoo Yeon Seok shared, “I was very excited to do the reading with all the cast members for the first time.” Chae Soo Bin added, “This was the most nerve-wracking moment of the entire project. I will do my best.”
