tvN’s “The Midnight Romance in Hagwon” has shared a new making-of video!
Helmed by director Ahn Pan Seok of the hit drama “Something in the Rain,” “The Midnight Romance in Hagwon” is a new romance set against the backdrop of Daechi, a neighborhood known as the epicenter of private education in Korea due to its high concentration of hagwons (private educational institutions).
In a newly released behind-the-scenes video, Jung Ryeo Won and Wi Ha Joon steal the spotlight with their flawless performance during an eating scene. Not a single line is flubbed, prompting the director to jokingly suggest giving them a whopping 30 pages of script for a single scene, confident they can pull it off effortlessly.
During a valley scene, Wi Ha Joon and Kim Jong Tae demonstrate their professionalism as they meticulously plan a fall into shallow water. Despite concerns about timing, they remain composed. Wi Ha Joon, however, seems a bit jittery about executing the fall according to plan. Jung Ryeo Won lightens the mood with a quip, suggesting, “It would be hilarious if only Ha Joon fell into the water.” In the end, they flawlessly execute the scene.
When filming the episode’s highlight, the kiss scene, Jung Ryeo Won and Wi Ha Joon leave no detail to chance as they rehearse every movement with precision, guided by the director. Yet, during the actual take, Wi Ha Joon hilariously fumbles the timing to grab Jung Ryeo Won’s hand. With a quick recovery, he nails the confession and kiss scene on the second try.
