Get ready for “Squid Game” to continue!

On August 1, Director, Writer, and Executive Producer Hwang Dong Hyuk announced through a letter that Season 2 of the sensational “Squid Game” series will return on December 26 and further delivered news of Season 3 in 2025.

“Squid Game” centers on a mysterious survival game with a reward of 45.6 billion won (approximately $33 million) on the line. Season 2 picks up with Seong Gi Hun (Lee Jung Jae), who gave up on going to the United States to pursue his own goals linked to the deadly game he won in Season 1.

The new still captures Seong Gi Hun, the sole surviving contestant from Season 1, once again wearing the trademark green tracksuit worn by the contestants of the Squid Game. Viewers are intrigued to find out how he has come to participate in the games once more and what games he will partake in for the new season.

Along with the letter, Netflix unveiled a new teaser for Season 2 featuring the contestants once again entering a fierce competition for survival. The Front Man asks, “It’s been three years. Do you want to play again?” and the ominous statement, “The real game begins,” raises intrigue for the upcoming season.

Previously, it was announced that the cast of “Squid Game 2” includes returning stars Lee Jung Jae, Lee Byung Hun, and Wi Ha Joon as well as new cast members Im SiwanKang Ha NeulPark Gyu YoungJo Yu RiWon Ji An,  Park Sung HoonYang Dong GeunT.O.PLee Jin Wook, David Lee, Noh Jae Won, Kang Ae Sim, and Oh Dal Soo.
