Mnet’s “Road to Kingdom: ACE OF ACE” has unveiled a preview for its upcoming first episode!
“Road to Kingdom: ACE OF ACE” is a new stand-alone season of “Road to Kingdom,” the idol competition show that served as a prequel to “Kingdom: Legendary War” back in 2020. This upcoming season will function as an independent brand, spotlighting rising K-pop boy groups and introducing new benefits for the winning team.
The seven groups competing on the show are ONEUS, CRAVITY, TEMPEST, YOUNITE, THE NEW SIX, 8TURN, and The CrewOne (a project group formed by ATBO and JUST B), and SHINee’s Taemin will host the program as an MC.
In the newly released preview, it is revealed that the competition will adopt a two-track approach. One track will rank the teams as groups, while a separate track will individually rank the “ace” of each team following performances by a standout member from each group.
As talent will be the sole criterion for victory, the clip then showcases participants striving to impress by displaying their skills in dancing, singing, and rapping. One contestant highlights the intense competitive atmosphere of the show by saying, “In the end, we have to step on someone else’s back in order to rise.”
Towards the end of the video, Taemin makes an important announcement that leaves the participants visibly shocked. It remains to be seen what kind of new rules will be introduced and how they will affect the performances the contestants have prepared.
