TVING’s upcoming drama “Love in the Big City” has shared new teasers!
Based on the bestselling novel by Park Sang Young, “Love in the Big City” is a carefully crafted drama that blends comedy, classic romance, and romantic comedy. The series will follow young writer Go Young (Nam Yoon Su) as he navigates the ups and downs of life and love, with Park Sang Young himself adapting the script to capture the original’s charm.
On October 18, “Love in the Big City” unveiled four new teasers and posters to preview the four different stories that will take place centering around Go Young’s life.
In episodes 1 and 2, Go Young will depict a clumsy yet cute love in his 20s. Go Young narrates, “The big city is a cruel place. Many men gather, but the chances of having a beautiful love are…” followed by glances at his tumultuous relationships. In the big city, he meets his first love Kim Nam Gyu (Kwon Hyuk) as well as his close friend Mi Ae (Lee Soo Kyung). The poster for the first two episodes ask, “Do you believe in love that lasts forever?”
The teaser for episodes 3 and 4 depicts Go Young meeting his second love Noh Young Soo (Na Hyun Woo). Go Young shares, “After meeting him, words began to flow naturally,” and Noh Young Soo confesses, “I like the universe that is you,” which is also reflected in their poster together. However, Go Young’s happy life takes a sudden unexpected turn for the worse as he learns that his mother (Oh Hyun Kyung) has cancer. At the end of the teaser, Go Young resolves to introduce his significant other to his mother.
In the teaser for episodes 5 and 6, Go Young meets his “true love” Gyu Ho (Jin Ho Eun), who is a bartender. Sparks fly as Go Young orders four glasses of tequila and makes eye contact with Gyu Ho. The teaser depicts the two experiencing the ups and downs of a heartwarming love. Near the teaser’s end, however, Go Young wonders, “Was that my fault, or something that was inevitable.” At the end, the question, “Do you not care whether I’m around or not?” lingers in the air.
In the teaser for the final two episodes, Go Young celebrates quitting work with drinks and parties. Despite his happy appearance, however, the last teaser reveals a shocking turn of events as Go Young shares, “I thought I would be together with Gyu Ho forever, but we can’t even ask each other how we are doing now.” He meets the mysterious William Habibi (Kim Won Joong), who breaths life back into him. Go Young remarks, “Love. That was my only wish,” and the teaser ends with Go Young revealing that the “wish” he wrote on his lantern is “Gyu Ho.”
“Love in the Big City” will broadcast all eight episodes via TVING on October 21. The drama will also be available on Viki!
