The hit Netflix series “Squid Game” has unveiled its character posters and a new teaser video for the highly anticipated Season 2!

“Squid Game” centers on a mysterious survival game with a reward of 45.6 billion won (approximately $33 million) on the line. Season 2 picks up with Seong Gi Hun (Lee Jung Jae), who gave up on going to the United States to pursue his own goals linked to the deadly game he won in Season 1.

The newly released character posters offer a sneak peek into its nine main participants. First, Seong Gi Hun is shown marked with the number 456 and a stern expression, signaling a sharp contrast to his once innocent and optimistic demeanor in Season 1. His serious face highlights his determination as he returns to face this life-threatening game.

Other participants are depicted wearing smiles, unaware of the horrors awaiting them. Myung Gi (Im Siwan), a YouTuber who invests in cryptocurrency, is assigned number 333, while Dae Ho (Kang Ha Neul), an easy-going and humorous man, has number 388.

Gyeong Seok (Lee Jin Uk), who enters the game to cover his daughter’s hospital bills, has number 246. Meanwhile, Hyun Ju (Park Sung Hoon), who is assigned number 120, seeks money for gender-affirming surgery.

The poster also highlights Geum Ja (Kang Ae Sim) and her son Yong Sik (Yang Dong Geun), who are marked with numbers 149 and 007, respectively. Their familial bond outside the game sparks curiosity about how their relationship will impact their chances in the game.

Rounding out the participants are Jung Bae (Lee Seo Hwan), an old friend of Gi Hun with number 390, and Jun Hee (Jo Yu RI), who is hoping to recover money lost in a fraudulent investment, marked with number 222.

In the new video released alongside the poster, the cast shares their thoughts and insights about the upcoming drama.

Lee Jung Jae, reflecting on the new season, reveals that the setting was beyond anything he could have imagined. He also discusses his character’s evolution since Season 1, saying, “One thing he knew for sure was that this must never happen again.” He continues, “I think that became the biggest motivation for the transformation Gi Hun went through compared to season 1.”

Meanwhile, Lee Byung Hun offers his perspective, saying, “Front Man believes that there’s no benevolence left in people. Gi Hun thinks the opposite, that even in desperate situations, people still hold kindness within them. Front Man’s main goal, I think, is to shatter the conviction Gi Hun holds.”
