tvN’s upcoming drama “Jeongnyeon: The Star Is Born” has unveiled its first teaser!
Based on a popular webtoon, the drama is directed by Jung Ji In, known for “The Red Sleeve.” Set in the 1950s, shortly after the Korean War, the series follows Jeong Nyeon (Kim Tae Ri), a young vocal prodigy who dreams of becoming a top traditional theater actor. The show explores Jeong Nyeon’s journey through competition, teamwork, and personal growth amid the era’s poverty and romance.
The first teaser reveals Jeong Nyeon’s awe and aspiration as she first watches the legendary all-female Gukguek-dan, a Korean classical opera ensemble she’s only heard about until now. Mesmerized by the enchanting stage and the actors’ powerful performances, she begins to dream of standing on that stage herself.
The teaser culminates with a glimpse of Jeong Nyeon’s electrifying performance, sending chills down the spine and heightening anticipation for her extraordinary journey.
