“The Midnight Romance In Hagwon” cast has bid farewell to the drama in the latest making-of video!
Helmed by director Ahn Pan Seok of the hit drama “Something in the Rain,” tvN’s “The Midnight Romance in Hagwon” is a love story set against the backdrop of Daechi, a neighborhood known as the epicenter of private education in Korea due to its high concentration of hagwons (private educational institutions).
On June 30, the drama concluded with its highest ratings of the entire run.
The newly released video captures the final day of filming for the drama. Jung Ryeo Won, who plays the role of Seo Hye Jin, and Wi Ha Joon, who portrays Lee Jun Ho, turn on a self-camera as they reminisce in a classroom where their characters’ romance first began to bloom. They fondly recall hiding in this same classroom during their initial shoot two months ago. When Jung Ryeo Won asks Wi Ha Joon about his feelings regarding the last day of filming, he responds, “I’m saddened by how quickly it’s come to an end.” Jung Ryeo Won echoes this sentiment, adding, “Indeed, it ended too soon.”
Following the final shoot, the actors receive flower bouquets to mark the conclusion, and tears well up on set. In separate interviews afterward, Jung Ryeo Won reflects, “I’ve always felt a mix of emotions at the end of filming, but with this project, time passed by so quickly that it’s mostly a bitter feeling now.” She continues, “Knowing that this time will never come back, I’ll probably have strong lingering emotions.”
Wi Ha Joon shares a similar sentiment, saying, “Despite the extensive filming and dialogue across 16 episodes, it feels like it ended so swiftly. I was just getting into the groove, but now that it’s over, I’m feeling quite sad and sorrowful.”
