On the latest episode of “The King of Mask Singer,” “Jang Geum” blew the audience away with her singing!
During the September 15 broadcast of the MBC singing competition, four contestants moved forward in their quest to challenge the reigning champion for the throne.
In the first match-up of Round 2, Jang Geum sang a stunning rendition of Ailee’s “Ice Flower” (from the soundtrack of the hit drama “Queen of Ambition”).
After watching her performance, the celebrity panelists lavished praise on Jang Geum for her beautiful voice and skillful singing technique.
Seomoon Tak declared that Jang Geum seemed like an experienced veteran singer, while tripleS’s ChaeYeon guessed that she was a girl group member.

Jang Geum ultimately won the round 68-31 and advanced to Round 3, where she performed a soulful cover of Jung Key’s “Alone.”
Jang Geum also emerged the winner of Round 3, and she moved on to face off against the reigning champion, “Under the Sea,” in the final round.
Although both singers impressed the audience with their performances, Under the Sea ultimately defended her title as champion, leaving Jang Geum to reveal her identity to the crowd.
Jang Geum turned out to be none other than LIGHTSUM’s main vocalist Chowon, who first entered the spotlight as a contestant on Mnet’s 2018 survival show “Produce 48.”
After Chowon described how she got her start in the industry as a child model and actor, host Kim Sung Joo asked her about her goals for the future. Chowon replied, “I hope that, like the meaning of our group name, we are able to deliver happy energy to lots of people through our music.”
