Upcoming film “Cabriolet” has released its official trailer!
“Cabriolet” follows the journey of Ji Ah (Geum Sae Rok), a weary Korean worker who spends all her savings to purchase a cabriolet and embark on a road trip with her ex-boyfriend Gi Seok (Kang Young Seok). She also encounters a rural youth named Byung Jae (Ryu Kyung Soo), resulting in an unconventional road movie that marks the feature film debut of director Jo Kwang Jin, the original author of “Itaewon Class.”
The newly released trailer starts with a powerful question: “Will you be happy 20 years from now?” Ji Ah, who epitomizes an exemplary Korean employee, is determined to live her best life and tirelessly balances work, family, and self-improvement. But when she faces a cancer diagnosis and the loss of a dear friend, she starts feeling overwhelmed by everyday life, sparking a surprising change of course. She jumps into a white convertible and embarks on a cross-country trip, liberating herself from the confines of her usual routine.
Ji Ah also makes her ex-boyfriend Gi Seok a daring offer, telling him, “If you come with me for just a week, I’ll give you this convertible.” Gi Seok quickly agrees, hopping into the passenger seat. Later, the mysterious rural youth Byung Jae also joins the adventure.
The trailer ends with a shot of Ji Ah’s injured face, followed by Byung Jae wearing a serious expression as he closes the car trunk, suggesting that unpredictable plot twists lie ahead in the story.
“Cabriolet” is set to premiere on June 19. Check out the trailer below!
