Rookie girl group VVUP has announced that their leader Hyunny will be leaving the group due to health issues.
On August 29, VVUP’s agency egoENT released the following statement:
Hello, this is egoENT.
Thanks to the unwavering support and encouragement from the fans, VVUP has successfully completed their ‘Ain’t Nobody’ promotions. We would like to sincerely thank all of the fans once again.
However, we regret to inform you of some unfortunate news.
While she has been consistently active since their pre-debut in March, VVUP’s leader Hyunny will unfortunately no longer be able to continue her activities as a member of VVUP due to health reasons.
Throughout the promotional period, Hyunny has been making efforts to recover her health. During this time, we had careful discussions about her continuing activities, but after much consideration, it has been decided that Hyunny will focus solely on her recovery.
We sincerely apologize for the sudden news and any concern it may have caused the fans.
Although Hyunny’s activities with VVUP have come to an end, we kindly ask for your continued warm support so she can recover her health. The remaining three members of VVUP and our company will also continue to support and encourage Hyunny.
VVUP will proceed with their scheduled activities as a 3-member group, and we will provide further details on their upcoming plans at a later date.
We will do our utmost to show you an even more improved version of VVUP, and we ask for your continued love and support.
Thank you.
Following a two-week pre-debut activity in March, VVUP officially debuted in April. The group’s leader Hyunny, born in 2005, was a former YG Entertainment trainee and had participated in MBC’s 2021 girl group audition program “My Teenage Girl.”
Wishing Hyunny a speedy and full recovery!
