Nam Joo Hyuk, Yoo Ji Tae, and Kim So Jin are set to return for Season 2 of Vigilante.
A source told JTBC Entertainment News on the 19th, “Season 2 of ‘Vigilante’ is in the works. Major actors from Season 1, including Nam Joo Hyuk, Yoo Ji Tae, and Kim So Jin, are expected to return. Casting for new characters is currently underway.”
A representative from the production company Studio N confirmed, “We are currently in the planning stage,” and noted that the scheduling and broadcast details have yet to be finalized. Despite the different stances from the actors’ agencies regarding their participation, the strong affection they have for the show suggests they are likely to reprise their characters if scheduling permits.
Premiering last November as a Disney Plus original series, Vigilante garnered praise as a well-crafted noir thriller. The series follows Kim Ji Yong (Nam Joo Hyuk), a model police academy student by day and a vigilante by night, who takes the law into his own hands to punish criminals who have evaded justice. Yoo Ji Tae plays Cho Heon, the head of the Metropolitan Investigation Team, while Kim So Jin portrays Choi Mi Ryeo, a reporter for the magazine “Report 25.”
With its gripping storyline and strong performances, Vigilante quickly became a fan favorite, setting high expectations for its upcoming second season.
