While tvN’s Love Your Enemy concluded with its promised happy ending, viewers couldn’t help but fixate on Jung Yu Mi’s unexpected wedding dress choice in the series finale.

The December 29th broadcast of the show’s final episode (Episode 12) featured the culmination of the romance between Seok Ji Won (Ju Ji Hoon) and Yoon Ji Won (Jung Yu Mi). The episode showed the couple proceeding with marriage plans, including family introductions and preparations for an intimate outdoor wedding ceremony.

However, the scene that should have been a highlight became a talking point for different reasons, as Jung’s styling choices raised eyebrows among viewers. The wedding dress, reminiscent of 1980s bridal fashion, paired with dated veil styling, proved distracting for many audiences. The scene’s impact was further complicated by Seok Ji Won’s character being visibly lovestruck by this rather questionable look.

The potentially divisive moment was mercifully brief, cut short by Seok Ji Won’s late arrival to the photo shoot and an unexpected storm interrupting the proceedings. Yet, the styling choice overshadowed even the happy ending in subsequent viewer discussions.

Love Your Enemy tells the story of two people born on the same day with the same name—male Seok Ji Won and female Yoon Ji Won—who come from feuding families. After a painful separation in their teens, they reunite as sworn enemies 18 years later, leading to a bickering romance. The series will be followed by When the Stars Gossip, starring Lee Min Ho and Gong Hyo Jin.
