The film follows veteran detective Seo Do Cheol (Hwang Jung Min) and rookie detective Park Sun Woo (Jung Hae In) as they join forces to track down a serial killer who has the city on edge.
The new posters showcase Director Ryoo Seung Wan’s signature action style. They feature Hwang Jung Min and Jung Hae In in a tense action scene, battling someone in the pouring rain. While there are two posters, they seem to depict a single, thrilling moment from the film.
“Since the release of Veteran in 2015, I’ve always been thinking about making a sequel,” said Director Ryoo Seung Wan. “It’s a project I’ve been planning for the past nine years, so it’s even more meaningful that Veteran 2 has been completed. I hope the audience will enjoy it as well.”
Meanwhile, Veteran 2 received explosive reviews at the Cannes International Film Festival. Reuters called it an action film with fresh action and relatable problems created by Director Ryoo Seung Wan. The Hollywood Reporter praised it as a “mixture of irrepressible physical entertainment and incisive psychological and social interrogation.” Cinemateaser noted it as a “sequel that does not disappoint after 10 years since the commercial success of Veteran,” and Screen Daily highlighted the film for having the “best set piece involving an impossibly long, steep stairwell since John Wick: Chapter 4.”
Veteran 2 is scheduled for release in Korean theaters on September 13th.
