KG (Keira Grace Madder), a member of JYP Entertainment’s U.S.-based girl group VCHA, has officially filed a lawsuit against the company citing allegations of mistreatment. JYP USA has strongly denied the claims, calling them “false and exaggerated.”

In a statement posted to her Instagram on December 7th, the 17-year-old revealed her decision to terminate her contract. “Yesterday, I filed a lawsuit because I have decided to terminate my contract with JYP Entertainment and exit VCHA after experiencing incidents of abuse and mistreatment by certain staff members,” KG wrote.

The singer shared serious concerns about the group’s living and working conditions. “I am not in support of the working and living conditions that led a member to attempt suicide. Nor do I support an environment that encourages eating disorders and has caused members to self-harm,” she claimed.

Financial issues were also among her concerns. “I have accumulated a massive amount of company debt, while being paid very little for the intense work and extreme limitations on our personal lives.”

However, KG emphasized, “I’d like to thank J.Y. Park, company executives, and staff for believing in me and the exceptional training. I do not blame anyone for the treatment endured but feel this is an issue that lies deeply embedded in the K-Pop industry.”

JYP USA responded on December 9th, denying KG’s claims. The agency stated, “KG left the group residence in May and began discussions with her legal representatives at that time. We have been working with her representatives to find a resolution.” However, JYP USA added that communication from KG’s side has recently stopped. “We are awaiting further contact from KG’s legal team.”

The agency also expressed regret about the public nature of the accusations. “Her statement contains false and exaggerated allegations, and actions like these have caused significant harm to VCHA and its other members.”

VCHA, formed through the A2K (America2Korea) project in collaboration with Republic Records, debuted as a six-member group on January 26th.
