In the upcoming Korean drama titled “Tempest,” two of Cobra Kai’s most famous stars will reunite. While the final season of Netflix’s Emmy-nominated dojo drama recently returned with five episodes, Cobra Kai Season 6 Part 2 will premiere on November 15 and will be followed by the final part, which will arrive in 2025. In the meantime, two of the best-known actors from the popular Karate Kid spinoff series have already booked their next roles.

For its part, Deadline assured that “Tempset”, a new spy K-Drama series, counts among its actors Jacob Bertrand and Alicia Hannah-Kim, known respectively for their roles of Eli “Hawk” Moskowitz and Kim Da-Eun in Cobra Kai. Tempest’s cast already includes Gianna Jun and Gang Dong-won, as well as John Cho and Christopher Gorham, who are also confirmed to star in the series.

As for details regarding the characters, nothing has yet been revealed, but the series should be broadcast from 2025 on Disney+ internationally and on Hulu in the United States.

Tempest is a high-stakes thriller

Currently in production in Seoul, South Korea, Tempest follows a diplomat and former ambassador to the United States, Seo Munju (played by Gianna Jun). His path crosses with Sanho (Gang Dong-won), an international special agent, as they race to uncover the truth behind a dangerous attack that threatens the very stability of the Korean Peninsula.

If Gianna Jun, also known as Jun Ji-hyun, stands out for her leading roles in “Kingdom”, “My Love from the Star” and “Legend of the Blue Sea”, Gang Dong-won, also a producer of “Tempest”, recently had a starring role in the Netflix film “Uprising” and he has also starred in films such as “Broker” and “Peninsula”. As for Cho, he is known for his many Hollywood films, such as “Harold & Kumar” and the acclaimed thriller “Searching,” while Gorham is known for his television roles in “Popular,” “Ugly Betty” and “The Lincoln Lawyer.”

It must be recognized that Tempest is very accomplished behind the camera, thanks to Chung Seo-kyung, co-writer of “The Handmaiden” and “Decision to Leave”, two films by filmmaker Park Chen-wook which are universally well received.Directed by Kim Hee-won and Heo Myeong-haeng, this Korean spy drama could be one of the best series of 2025, which gets a little boost thanks to its connection to Cobra Kai.
