Producing director (PD) Lee Joo Hyung has tragically passed away at the age of 35.
On August 24, Coupang Play officially confirmed that Lee Joo Hyung had passed away in a car accident—leaving behind his wife, who is currently pregnant with their first child.
“It’s true that PD Lee Joo Hyung unfortunately passed away in a car accident on his way home from work on August 22,” stated a spokesperson for Coupang Play. “The funeral procession will be held today, and right now, everyone is overwhelmed because of this sudden news.”
Approximately 25 minutes past midnight on August 22, the taxi that Lee Joo Hyung was taking home from work was involved in a collision, and Lee Joo Hyung is said to have passed away on site.
Lee Joo Hyung, who joined tvN as a producing director in 2016, is known for his work on hit shows like “Three Meals a Day,” “New Journey to the West” (“Here Comes Trouble”), “The Great Escape 4,” and “Comedy Big League.”
