These K-dramas are booming and their audiences are skyrocketing. Kim Soo Hyun and Kim Ji Won win hearts with their performance in “Queen of Tears.” Suspense thriller “Hide,” starring Lee Bo Young and Lee Moo Saeng, also saw an increase in viewership this week.
Three popular series reached new viewership heights last night. Starting with “Queen of Tears,” the romantic series that stars beloved actors Kim Soo Hyun and Kim Ji Won reached a milestone by achieving its highest viewership scores to date. According to Nielsen Korea, the sixth episode of this emotional journey achieved an impressive average viewership rating of 14,1%.
The K-drama “Queen of Tears” tells the extraordinary story of a married couple, Baek Hyeon Woo and Hong Hae In, who defy adversity to maintain their unwavering bond. Leading the way is Kim Soo Hyun as Baek Hyeon Woo, the astute legal director of the prestigious conglomerate Queens Group. Opposite him, Kim Ji Won plays Hong Hae In, the charismatic and wealthy heiress nicknamed the “queen” of the Queens Group department stores.
Simultaneously, the ongoing romantic Kdrama “Beauty and Mr. Romantic,” starring Im Soo Hyang and Ji Hyun Woo, saw a remarkable rise in viewership. With an average audience rating of 17,2% nationally, the soap recorded an increase of almost 2% from its premiere the previous night, maintaining its position as the most watched program of any genre combined, throughout the day.
In the series “Beauty and Mr. Romantic”, Park Do Ra, played by Im Soo Hyang, goes through the ups and downs of fame under the relentless pressure of her overbearing mother. However, Do Ra’s life takes an unexpected turn when she meets assistant director Go Pil Seung, played by Ji Hyun Woo, on the set of a play. Pil Seung becomes the guiding light in Do Ra’s life, helping him get back on track with his support and affection.
Finally, the suspense thriller “Hide,” starring Lee Bo Young and Lee Moo Saeng, also saw an increase in viewers for its second episode, reaching an average rating of 4,7% nationwide. Additionally, ‘Hide’ follows Na Moon Young, played by Lee Bo Young, as she searches for answers regarding the mysterious disappearance of her husband Cha Sung Jae (Lee Moo Saeng).
