Jung Yun Ha has received praise for her portrayal of Lee Seo Yeon, a woman who commissions her ex-husband’s temporary marriage while navigating her own twisted desires. Among the highlights of her performance was a steamy bedroom scene with co-star Jo I Geon, which became a hot topic of discussion.
Reflecting on the scene, Jung revealed that the script noted, “Seo Yeon and Jio have sex, her mind is jumbled.” She continued, “I had extensive discussions with the director about the scene. I think it was created to highlight Seo Yeon’s character traits. It was a process that required tremendous courage, and I was fully aware of that going into it.”

The actress also reflected on her approach to playing Seo Yeon. “I worked hard to understand Seo Yeon,” she said. “I thought, ‘If I act rationally, others will objectively judge her as wicked.’” Jung Yun Ha also recalled, “When I was cast, I immediately started thinking about the work ahead. From that moment until the end of filming, I don’t think I was able to fully enjoy myself,” she confessed.
Released on November 29th, The Trunk explores themes of love and redemption through the unique premise of contractual marriages. The series is streaming on Netflix.
