“Sweet Home 3” depicts the desperate struggles of people faced with the crucial choice between monsters and humans in a world where the era of monsters ends and gives way to a new beginning. In addition to releasing behind-the-scenes set photos, director Lee Eung-bok and the main cast shared their thoughts on the K-drama’s conclusion and the highlights of this final season.
First of all, director Lee Eung-bok highlighted the distinction between season 3 and previous seasons, explaining that “If season 2 tells how the characters go through a crisis while fighting monsters and being trapped, season 3 seeks to illustrate the evolution of the characters as well as their varied emotions while resolving mysterious events”.
Season 3 focuses on the characters and stories of people facing a new change in the monster situation, with the appearance of new characters. Director Lee said: “This season focuses on the fight between Sang-wook, who becomes a demon, Hyun-soo, who tries to protect humanity, Yi-kyung, who protects the child, and Tak In-hwan, who defends the people”, which arouses viewers’ anticipation for the characters’ incessant struggles to end the world of monsters.
Director Lee Eung-bok, who originated the concept of Korean creatures until the conclusion of the one-off series “Sweet Home,” expressed his feelings, saying: “Although the genre of ‘Sweet Home’ is creatures, I believe it is primarily a drama about growing up. I am moved to see that not only the characters, but also the actors have evolved a lot. »
The main cast also highlighted the highlights of “Sweet Home” season 3. Lee Jin-wook, who plays Sang-wook, said: “It’s how the characters move beyond chaos and find balance in the process of facing a new era.” » Lee Si-young, as Yi-kyung, shared: “The birth and change of the new human being”, while Go Min-si, playing Eun-yoo, confessed: “The action scenes in season 3 are very intense and fierce. »
Jinyoung, under the name Chan-young, said: “I played with the feeling of a mission to be with the team until the end of season 3. This is a very valuable and special project for me”. Tak In-hwan and Yoo Oh-sung shared: “Thanks to ‘Sweet Home,’ I was able to make a living as an actor”. Additionally, Oh Jung-se, who plays Dr. Lim, said: “It was great to be able to work with good actors and wonderful staff”, while Kim Moo-yeol, aka Young-hoo, shared: “It was an honor to take part in the challenge of ‘Sweet Home’ and to be part of this vast vision of the world”. Kim Si-ah, who plays Yi-kyung’s child, also expressed her feelings, saying: “It was so special to witness the ‘Sweet Home’ characters’ journey to the end while being a part of it.”
After a first season that marked the beginning of the Korean creature genre, born of greed, and a second season that expanded the universe by depicting humans living in a prolonged era of monsters, season 3, which marks the great finale with the birth of a new type of human, will be broadcast on July 19.
