The film ‘Soulmate’, starring rising actor Byun Woo Seok, may soon be re-released due to the latter’s growing popularity. On May 25, film distribution company NEW announced that it was considering re-releasing the film following initial demand from theaters. “We are currently in discussions with cinemas for the re-release of ‘Soulmate’. It was cinema that asked for it first. We are discussing specific times and events,” a NEW representative said.
‘Soulmate’, released in March 2023, tells the story of first loves and their evolution into adulthood. The film, which stars Byun Woo Seok, Kim Da Mi and Jeon Son Yi, sees its re-release potential boosted by Byun Woo Seok’s recent popularity, bolstered by the success of tvN’s Kdrama ‘Lovely Runner’.
