SHINee’s Taemin has graced the cover of Elle Korea’s September issue!
In an interview following his photo shoot for the magazine, Taemin was asked if he’s aware that even now, in his 17th year since debut, he continues to attract new fans. He responded, “If that’s true, I’m incredibly thankful. There aren’t many teams that have remained active for as long as we have, both as SHINee and as solo artists. I want to become a lasting memory for people.”
As Taemin, who is preparing for his first solo world tour, recently released his new mini album “ETERNAL,” he went on to share, “I hope that my new song can also become a nostalgic track for people 10 years from now.”
Taemin also spoke about the concept trailer released ahead of his new album, which featured SHINee’s birth flower, the pansy. He explained, “Since the flower symbolizes the moment I debuted, I wanted to convey that no matter where I am, I will always carry my identity as Taemin.”
Taemin will be taking on his first solo MC role in the upcoming Mnet show “Road to Kingdom: ACE OF ACE,” which begins airing in September. He remarked, “I’m grateful that many junior artists have chosen me as their role model. I thought that if I were to be the MC for this program featuring male idol groups, it could become a symbolic memory for me, something I can look back on proudly as I grow older.”
When asked about his proudest achievement since debuting in 2008, Taemin touched hearts by saying, “It’s the journey I’ve shared with my fellow SHINee members. We never gave up and kept moving forward together. I’m thankful to live a life where so many people feel connected to us and cheer us on.”
Taemin’s full photo shoot and interview will be available in the September issue of ELLE Korea.
