KBS has revealed exciting details about their upcoming music show!
On October 10, KBS announced through an official press release that their new music travel reality show “I Am a Singer” (literal translation; can also be translated as “The Country’s Singer”) will premiere in November.
“I Am a Singer” will deliver an exceptional musical journey featuring 100 percent live performances. Unlike traditional overseas music programs that often focus solely on busking, “I Am a Singer” opens its stage to everyone through an “open mic” format, inviting K-pop fans and renowned international musicians to join in and perform together, creating an interactive and engaging musical experience.
The show will feature episodes filmed in Munich, Germany, and Mallorca, Spain.
In the Munich episode, Suzy, ATEEZ members Jongho and Hongjoong, singers Sohyang, Sunwoo JungA, and Henry are confirmed to appear, with special guest appearances by the Vienna Boys’ Choir and the Munich Opera Chorus.
The Mallorca episode will feature MAMAMOO’s Hwasa, Sohyang, Henry, and An Shinae. They will be joined by renowned opera singer Plácido Domingo and Spanish-German singer Álvaro Soler as special guests.
Additionally, music producer cloud, pianist Lee Nau, and guitarist Zairo will contribute as session musicians, enhancing the overall quality of the performances.
A KBS representative stated, “The candid and free-spirited travel diaries of these musicians will present scenes that set this show apart from traditional busking programs. We hope viewers look forward to the high-class guerrilla concerts encountered during this musical journey.”
“I Am a Singer” is set to premiere on KBS 2TV on November 2 at 10:35 p.m. KST.
