As BTS member Suga continues to be embroiled in controversy following a recent DUI incident involving an electric scooter, his image is still prominently featured in Samsung Germany’s X (formally Twitter) ads, drawing significant attention.

According to Starnews, Samsung Germany’s official X posted promotional photos of Suga holding the Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra on both August 15th and 16th. On August 15th, they shared a photo of Suga with the caption, “Me trying to sneak a pic of my favorite celebrity. #SUGA @BTS_twt #GalaxyS24Ultra.” The following day, they posted another ad featuring Suga alongside BTS members RM and Jimin, asking, “Who looks best with the #GalaxyS24Ultra?” and encouraging fans to vote.

These posts quickly garnered over 500,000 views, with many netizens from both Korea and overseas questioning whether it was appropriate to continue featuring Suga in ads amidst his current scandal.

In a separate controversy, Suga is also facing allegations of misconduct during his alternative military service. The individual, identified as “A,” initially posted about Suga’s behavior during their basic service training at the Social Service Training Center in Boeun County, Chungcheongbuk-do, from November 20th to 24th last year—a post that went viral after Suga’s DUI incident.

Following the viral post, A recently shared additional details. “ARMY might beat me to the pulp,” he wrote, “but like the others, I just spoke out because, even though he knew he would receive special leave as a team leader, his participation was lacking. He even embarrassed the instructor by falling asleep again right after being given a warning, which, in my opinion, reflects poorly on him as a person.”

Meanwhile, Suga is expected to appear before the police soon for questioning regarding these matters.
