Song Kang is set to appear in the upcoming film Escape, directed by Lee Jong Pil. According to an insider on the 15th, Song Kang will make a special appearance, showcasing his presence in a pivotal role.

Escape portrays the life-and-death chase between a North Korean soldier, Lim Kyu Nam, who dreams of a future beyond the Demilitarized Zone, and the Ministry of State Security officer, Ri Hyun Sang, tasked with stopping him. The film, directed by Samjin Company English Class helmer Lee Jong Pil, also stars Lee Je Hoon and Koo Kyo Hwan, who have teamed up for this gripping narrative.

Song Kang, who enlisted in the military on April 2nd, had completed filming his bits before joining the army. His participation in Escape is anticipated to comfort fans during his military hiatus, making an impact with his role that is expected to overshadow his absence.

This film marks Song Kang’s return to cinema after six years since Beautiful Vampire, screened at the 2nd Bucheon International Fantastic Film Festival in 2018.

Meanwhile, Escape has confidently set its premiere for July, aiming to make a splash during the summer, a peak season for movie releases.
