Song Hye Kyo graced the cover of Elle Korea’s September issue and shared her heartfelt thoughts.
Reflecting on her recent success in The Glory, she expressed gratitude for the positive response and revealed that it had ignited a new passion for taking on challenging roles. She said, “As it was my first time trying the thriller genre, I had a lot of worries and fears, but thankfully, I received a lot of love and found a new sense of enjoyment. It gave me the confidence to do even better in the future, and the courage to try something new.”
Looking ahead to her upcoming film, The Black Nuns, Song Hye Kyo shared that she was drawn to the project although she isn’t an avid fan of occult genres. “I’m not a big fan of the occult genre, but my mother really liked it, so I was familiar with it from a young age. After The Glory, I didn’t want to return to a melodrama or a love story. That’s when I came across The Black Nuns. Seeing myself on the monitor fighting for someone, I thought, ‘I have this side to me,’ and it gave me a great sense of anticipation to discover a new side of myself if I could complete this challenge.”
When asked about her ideal relationships, Song Hye Kyo shared, “I like people who can make me happy just by talking to them. I’m especially grateful for the good people around me. Life isn’t always happy, right? When I was struggling, the people around me always helped me stay on the right path. That’s why I always try to be a good adult myself.”
Regarding her long career as an actress, Song Hye Kyo expressed her dedication and sincerity. “I’ve always done my best within the given time. The results may not always be good, but I think I’ll continue to do as I’ve always done, silently and diligently in my place, whether it’s in the past, present, or future. I’ll accept criticism when I’m criticized and be grateful for praise when I’m praised.”
