Park Eun Bin and Sol Kyung Gu have shared their thoughts on what viewers can look forward to in their upcoming drama “Hyper Knife”!
“Hyper Knife” is a medical crime thriller drama that depicts the fierce rivalry and growth of two crazy geniuses as Doctor Se Ok (Park Eun Bin), who once had a promising past, and her former mentor Deok Hee (Sol Kyung Gu), who caused her to hit rock bottom, reunite.
Park Eun Bin portrays Jeong Se Ok, a prodigy who entered medical school as the top student at just 17. After being permanently banned from the operating room by her mentor Choi Deok Hee, she now works as a shadow doctor in an underground surgery clinic.
Sol Kyung Gu stars as Choi Deok Hee, a world-renowned neurosurgeon who expelled his former protégé Jeong Se Ok from the hospital. Despite his global reputation, Deok Hee has a hidden side that few know about.
Reflecting on the script, Park Eun Bin shared, “My first impression was that it was ‘mystifying.’ The dynamic between the mentor and mentee felt incredibly peculiar. While they are connected by their shared history, they also harbor deep hatred for one another. This hatred eventually leads them to recognize their similarities, making their relationship all the more compelling.”
She continued, “The complexity of their relationship sparks countless questions from the very beginning. However, I believe viewers who stay with the story until the end will find those questions answered. This isn’t a drama that provides clear causes or solutions. Instead, it invites viewers to interpret the psychological shifts between the characters, offering an enigmatic sense of catharsis.”
Describing the drama, Sol Kyung Gu remarked, “This series presents a teacher-student relationship unlike any that has been seen before. The dynamic between them is raw and unfiltered, and Jeong Se Ok’s attitude toward her mentor will shock many viewers.”
He continued, “Our drama isn’t designed to deliver moral lessons. Instead, it delves into the raw emotions between the mentor and mentee, including unfiltered words of hatred, which viewers will find interesting in guessing their inner thoughts that are hidden behind those words.”
“Hyper Knife” is set to premiere in March 2025.
